ReversingLabs Code of Conduct for Community

ReversingLabs is dedicated to providing the best community experience possible for the ReversingLabs community. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for community participants to learn, communicate, contribute and collaborate.

The Community Code of Conduct governs how we all participate and behave. We do not tolerate harassment of community participants in any form. Any form of written, social or verbal communication that can be offensive or harassing to any community member, participant or staff is not allowed. As such we are committed to creating a diverse, harassment free experience for everyone, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, level of experience, education, socio economic status, nationality, visible or invisible disability, physical appearance, body size, race or religion.

We expect all members of the ReversingLabs community to follow it both in letter and spirit, ensuring that it enriches our community and the technical communities in which we participate.

Expectations for All ReversingLabs Community Participants

This list below is not exhaustive or complete. Please use judgment on proper behavior and contribute to a productive and pleasant community experience. However, community participants violating these expectations may be sanctioned or expelled from the community.

Communicate and Collaborate

The concept of the community is based on working together and participants will gain the most from the community by actively participating and communicating effectively. As such, we encourage collaboration and communication as long as they are conducted in a positive and constructive way.

Be Respectful

We expect all participants to be respectful when communicating with other participants, even when differences of opinion arise. Participants are expected to work together to resolve disagreements constructively and respectfully. Disagreement is no excuse for poor manners. Please be patient.

Be Kind

All community participants should feel welcome, regardless of their personal background. Please be polite, courteous, and considerate to fellow participants. Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include, but is not limited to:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness towards other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes and learning from the experience
  • Focusing on what is best not just for an individual, but for the overall community

No offensive comments regarding gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion will be tolerated. This type of behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Violent threats or language directed at someone
  • Sexist, racist, or discriminatory jokes and language
  • Sexually explicit communications, interactions, or content
  • Violent communications, interactions, or content
  • Posting or threatening to post someone else’s personal information (so-called “doxing“)
  • Sharing private content, such as private emails or non-public forum posts like IRC channel history
  • Personal insults, especially those that are racist or contain sexist terms
  • Unwelcome sexual advances
  • Excessive or unnecessary profanity
  • Repeated harassment of others
  • Encouraging any of the above behaviors

Foster Openness

We welcome everyone to join our community. Support requests will receive timely responses and help the community identify and correct any unintentional errors in the answers provided.

Encourage Inquisitiveness

Our community thrives on curiosity and the continuous pursuit of knowledge. We actively encourage all members to ask questions, explore new ideas, and seek deeper understanding. By fostering an environment where inquisitiveness is valued, we empower each other to learn and grow collectively. Whether you are seeking assistance, sharing discoveries, or proposing innovative solutions, your curiosity drives our collective progress and enriches our shared expertise. We ensure that every question is met with thoughtful, respectful responses and that members feel comfortable expressing their interests and uncertainties. Through mutual support and a shared commitment to exploration, we cultivate a vibrant community where inquisitiveness leads to continuous improvement, collaborative success, and the advancement of our common goals.

Maintain Conciseness

Keep your communications brief and clear, since many members in the community may read them over time. Ensure even short messages are empathetic, welcoming, friendly, and patient. When detailed explanations are necessary, include a summary at the beginning. Introduce new ideas thoughtfully to add unique contributions to the discussion and stay focused on the topic, especially in lengthy conversations.

Language of Communication

While Reversing Labs welcomes individuals proficient in all languages, all Community interactions shall be conducted in English.

Reach Out and Ask for Help

Please inform our community manager if you feel a violation has taken place and we will address the situation. Ask questions if you are unsure and be helpful to those who ask. You can also contact community@reversinglabs.com.
